NEUTRA by Studiopiva | Daphne bathtub
The design stems from the idea of integrating the bathtub element into the space architecture with a sculptural approach. The nymph’s name inspired this bathtub, a character from Greek myth associated with freshwater courses, springs and streams.
The system’s centrepiece is a monumental Green Alps marble bathtub which rises from the floor. The bathtub shape is inspired by the movement of water at the exact moment when a drop falls onto the liquid surface. The perfectly balanced shape and proportions, the artwork that lends softness to the contours and edges make the bathtub an almost contemplative work.
The contrast between the marble surface finishes animates reflections – the outside is shiny, while the inside is matt which regains its shiny effect once the bathtub is filled.
The flooring extends vertically, using a refined wall covering. In addition to wash-basins, there are corner elements which create continuity between the floor and walls, and between walls.
Daphne is the result of a long and complex production process that took 300 hours of machine work and an additional 150 hours of manual work, combining sophisticated technologies with handmade finishes.
The waste material will be reused for other furnishings.
